About William

WilIiam is a Mexican-American artist from Chicago,IL. William's work embodies concepts of ones self and the things around us that visualize conflict. Fueled by contemporary culture, his interdisciplinary practice is made up of paintings, sculptures, and experimental films. There are no borders between mediums, only human perceived borders.

In 2014, William decided to pursue his passion for film by enrolling in film school at Columbia College Chicago. Over the course of his education, William learned the fundamentals of production, documentary, animation, post-production, and experimental film.

Throughout his time in school, William immersed himself in the world of cinema, exploring the art of storytelling through a variety of mediums. He learned the technical skills necessary to bring a film to life, from lighting and sound design to camera operation and editing.

After graduating in 2018, William began his career as a freelance videographer, working with organizations and non-profits in Chicago to create compelling video content.

That same year William transitioned from freelance to working on a team in a production studio. As part of the production studio, William had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from television shows and commercials to educational videos and surgical recordings.

William’s current work at the production studio has allowed him to continue to refine his skills and develop new ones. He has expanded his knowledge of post-production, including editing and color correction, and has gained experience in working with a variety of camera and equipment systems.

In 2021, after experiencing excessive burnout, William decided to take a step back and reevaluate his career path. Losing passion for filmmaking, he knew that he needed a change. William was determined to find a new direction that would bring fulfillment and joy to his life.

After enrolling himself at The Palette and Chisel Fine Art Academy in Chicago, IL, William discovered sculpting piqued his interest. He was drawn to its beauty and the sense of calm it brought to his life. William decided to pursue this craft, committing himself to learning as much as possible.

In 2022, William accepted a sculpting apprenticeship in Paris, France.

Upon his return to Chicago, William discovered a new community of artists who were diving deep into the world of NFTs and Web3. This discovery opened up a new world of possibilities for William and sparked his imagination in new ways.

William found that the decentralized nature of the blockchain allowed for new forms of creative expression, breaking down traditional barriers and opening up new opportunities for artists to reach their audiences.

William’s work in the world of NFTs and Web3 has allowed him to reach a new network of artists and collectors, and his creations have been featured in exhibitions and shows around the world.

Today, William continues to explore new ways to push the boundaries of what is possible in the world of NFTs and Web3.

Knowing the power and capabilities of Web3, William joined Web3Familia, a Latin Organization devoted to educating and onboarding 1 million Latinos. William helps host seasonal workshops in Chicago for the marginalized Latin community.

William is committed to sharing his knowledge and experience with other artists and individuals who are looking to explore this exciting new world of creative expression.
