LOVES ME, LOVES ME NOT discusses the importance of setting boundaries and protecting one's energy from those who seek to use it. It is all too common for people to drain our energy and leave us feeling depleted, especially in a culture that values productivity and constant availability. Through my art, I aim to communicate the message that our energy is a precious resource, and it is essential to be intentional about how we use it. Our energy is better spent on those who nurture us. In a world that can often feel chaotic and draining, it's important to cultivate relationships with people who uplift and support us. LOVES ME, LOVES ME NOT is a reminder that we have the power to decide how we engage with the world and the people around us, and that it is essential to honor our own needs and well-being in the process.
EL CORAZON
EL CORAZON means "The Heart" in Spanish.
EL CORAZON is inspired by my love for the Mexican game Lotería I used to play it all the time with my family when I was a child. It reminds me of home.
Lotería is a classic Mexican game that has been played for generations. It is deeply rooted in Mexican culture and is often played during celebrations, family gatherings, and special events. In the old days, Lotería cards were hand-painted. Cartoonists or folk painters gave them their style and personality, which made each Lotería game unique. EL CORAZON is my interpretation of the 27th card in the game.
Lotería is a cultural symbol in the Mexican-American community. It serves as a cultural touchstone for those who grew up being apart of the Mexican diaspora in the United States.
JUST LET GO
JUST LET GO explores the difficult process of losing something precious. It is a deeply personal theme for me, as I have experienced the pain of having to release something that once held great meaning and value in my life. I seek to capture the complexity of this experience the sadness, the grief, the uncertainty, and ultimately, the sense of liberation that can come with acceptance. JUST LET GO is a reflection of the universal human experience, and the courage it takes to face the unknown and move forward

TEMPERATURES is a reflection of the dangers of holding in one's emotions. In a culture that often values stoicism and emotional control, it can be all too easy to bottle up our feelings and hide them away. However, the consequences of doing so can be profound. Ranging from anxiety, depression, and even physical illness. I aim to convey the importance of expressing and processing our emotions in healthy ways. I seek to create thought that encourages viewers to reflect on their own relationship to their emotions and to consider the ways in which they can honor their feelings while still living in a world that can be challenging and unpredictable. Ultimately, TEMPERATURES is a call to action, inviting viewers to embrace vulnerability, authenticity, and self-care in their journey towards emotional wellbeing.
The “metaverse” is a term used to describe a collective virtual shared space that is created by the convergence of physical and virtual reality. It allows people to interact with each other in a seamless, immersive environment that blends aspects of both the physical and digital worlds.
